The town is known for its excellent restaurants, fishing harbour, art galleries, and relaxed atmosphere — a quieter, more intimate alternative to nearby Poreč and Rovinj. The best months to visit Novigrad are May, June, July, August, September. In peak season (July–August) prices are at their highest and accommodation books up weeks in advance.
