The Smart Destination Score is a data-driven tool that rates Croatian destinations across five dimensions: crowd pressure, visitor experience, value for money, practicality, and aesthetic appeal. Each score is calculated from real visitor volume data, seasonal pricing, transport links, and destination characteristics.
Scores are personalised to four travel modes: General (balanced for most visitors), Family (prioritises safety and shallow-water beaches), Budget (maximises value), and Relax (quiet, off-peak destinations). The Instagram mode highlights the most photogenic and unique locations.
How to use: select a destination and month, then choose a travel mode. The tool shows a composite score out of 100 and a breakdown of each sub-score. Hover any sub-score for an explanation of how it was calculated. Use the score to compare destinations such as Hvar versus Brač in August, or Dubrovnik versus Cavtat in September, to find the best fit for your trip.
