The Garden Festival 2026 at The Garden Resort, Tisno — the original boutique electronic music festival on the Dalmatian coast, August 1–6. House, techno, and underground sounds on the Adriatic.
The Garden Festival is the original — the event that started it all. When Nick Colgan and a group of DJs and friends created a gathering at a hillside resort in Tisno in 2006, they had no idea they were creating one of the most influential boutique festival templates in European music history. The Garden Festival was among the first events to combine genuinely high-quality electronic music programming with an exceptionally beautiful Mediterranean location at an intimate scale, and its success inspired a wave of similar events that now populate the European summer festival calendar.
The Birth of The Garden Resort
The resort that now hosts a full summer programme of world-class events was built around the needs of The Garden Festival — the terraced stages above the sea, the private beach, the outdoor pool, and the late-night venue (Barbarella's) that has become legendary among electronic music fans. Tisno itself was transformed by the festival's success, with local accommodation, restaurants, and transport adapting to serve the summer festival calendar that The Garden Resort established. The event's influence extends far beyond Tisno — the model it created can be seen in boutique festival events from the Mediterranean to the Baltic.
Programme
The Garden Festival's musical approach has always been eclectic within the electronic music spectrum — house, techno, disco, balearic, and leftfield sounds all have their place, and the boat parties and afternoon beach sessions are legendary. The 2026 edition continues the festival's tradition of booking artists who have been influential in shaping the sound of contemporary electronic music, alongside emerging voices and regional selectors who bring fresh perspectives.
The Tisno Festival Ecosystem
The Garden Festival is now just one of many outstanding events at the Tisno resort, which hosts Love International Festival, Hospitality On The Beach, Terminal V Croatia, Outlook Origins, Defected Croatia, Dekmantel Selectors, and Dimensions Festival across the summer. For a broader Dalmatian itinerary, Šibenik (20km north) and Krka National Park (30km) are easily combined with a Tisno stay.
