Stop Making Sense is a boutique electronic music festival held at The Garden Resort in Tisno that occupies a beloved niche within the Adriatic festival calendar — six days of cosmic disco, balearic beats, Italo, rare groove, and leftfield sounds curated by a close-knit group of selectors who believe that the best music for a sun-soaked Dalmatian summer afternoon is probably something recorded in Chicago in 1978, a Balearic sunrise mix from 1987, or a forgotten Brazilian record from 1982.
The Concept
Stop Making Sense was created by a collective of DJs and music enthusiasts who wanted to create an event where the music is the primary focus — where sets flow from one genre to another without concern for commercial trends, and where the audience can trust that everything played has been chosen for its quality and appropriateness to the moment. The festival occupies the same Garden Resort venue that hosts Love International, Hospitality On The Beach, and other acclaimed boutique events — sharing in the beauty of its cliff-top setting, private beach, and intimate capacity.
Musical Programme
The music at Stop Making Sense crosses decades and genres with deliberate eclecticism: post-disco funk, balearic ambient, cosmic synth, Italo house, afro-jazz, spiritual jazz, library music, and rare groove sit alongside contemporary electronic artists who bring the same spirit of discovery to their selections. The day programme tends towards mellower, more melodic sounds — the kind of music that accompanies an afternoon swim perfectly — while the night stages allow for longer, more exploratory DJ sets.
