Barrakud Festival 2026 – Electronic Music at Zrce Beach, Novalja | August

Barrakud Festival 2026 at Zrce Beach, Novalja — 5 days of house, techno, and electronic music on the iconic Pag island beach. August 9–13. Tickets, line-up, travel guide.

Barrakud Festival is a five-day electronic music event at the legendary Zrce Beach in Novalja on Pag island — part of the vibrant summer programme that makes Zrce one of the most densely packed festival destinations in Europe during June, July, and August. Barrakud brings house and techno to the open-air clubs of Zrce in mid-August, when the Adriatic is at its warmest and the long summer days create perfect conditions for the kind of festival experience that blends seamlessly between daytime swimming, afternoon music sessions, and all-night dancing.

Zrce Beach in August

By the time Barrakud arrives in mid-August, Zrce has already hosted Hideout Festival in late June, Fresh Island Festival in mid-July, and Sonus Festival in the week before. The beach's clubs — Aquarius, Papaya, Noa, and Kalypso — have been running at full festival capacity for weeks, creating a well-oiled festival infrastructure that serves Barrakud's audience efficiently. The Adriatic sea temperature in August (26–28°C) is at its highest, making the daytime beach component of the festival particularly appealing.

Programme & Music

Barrakud's programme focuses on house and techno — both the melodic, deeper end and the harder, more underground sounds — with a booking approach that mixes well-known international names with rising artists and regional performers from the Croatian and wider European electronic scene. The club stages at Zrce have excellent sound systems and the outdoor beach settings allow for acoustic experiences that enclosed clubs cannot offer.

Novalja and the Pag Island Experience

Novalja is the main town on Pag island — accessible by ferry from Zadar (1 hour north) or by bridge from the mainland (via Pag town in the south). The island's dramatic limestone landscape, its UNESCO-recognised lace-making tradition, and the exceptional Paški sir (Pag sheep's cheese) give it an identity beyond the festival calendar. The Kvarner region — Rijeka, Opatija, Crikvenica — is within comfortable reach for those combining the festival with a broader Croatian itinerary.
