Entry fees 2026: adults €6 in low season (November–April), €10 in high season (May–October). Children under 7: free. Students: reduced. Annual passes available. The park is open year-round but the Risnjak mountain hut may be closed in winter. Getting there by car: Crni Lug village (the park entrance) is 60 km east of Rijeka. The most direct route from Rijeka is via the D3 road through Delnice (40 km, then 15 km to Crni Lug). Journey time: 1 hour from Rijeka. From Zagreb: 130 km, 1.5 hours via the A1 motorway to Bosiljevo then northwest. There is no public transport to Crni Lug — a car is essential. The nearest town with services is Delnice (15 km from Crni Lug), which has a bus connection to Rijeka. The park information centre at Crni Lug is open daily 8am–4pm year-round, with extended hours in summer. Accommodation in Crni Lug: very limited — a few private rooms and the national park hut only. Most visitors base themselves in Rijeka or the Opatija Riviera and make a day trip.
