Vrbnik is one of the most dramatically positioned settlements in Croatia — a compact medieval town perched on a 48-metre limestone cliff above the eastern shore of Krk Island, with stone alleys so narrow (the narrowest in Croatia) that in places a person must turn sideways to pass. The town is the h
