One of Croatia's oldest towns, Nin is a tiny medieval settlement on a small island connected to the mainland by two stone bridges, 16 km north of Zadar. It is home to the smallest cathedral in the world — the pre-Romanesque Holy Cross Church — and the vast sandy lagoon beach of Queen's Beach (Kraljičina plaža), famous for its therapeutic black mud used as a natural spa treatment.
