A charming mid-island town on Hvar's north coast, set in a deep bay surrounded by pine forests, vineyards, and lavender fields. Jelsa is one of Hvar island's most pleasant towns — quieter and more family-oriented than Hvar Town, with a beautiful harbour, a Baroque church, and excellent beaches including Mina beach and the sandy Gromin Dolac cove nearby. The town has a genuine local character, good restaurants, and easy access to the Hvar wine route through the fertile Stari Grad Plain.
